View from Holliers - railway and Beckingthorpe Farm
Looking northwards from the parapet of the tower towards the low hill known as Palmer’s Hill or Beacon Hill, Beckingthorpe Farmhouse and its farm buildings are seen with beyond them the railway and a passenger train hauled by a steam engine en route towards Nottingham after leaving Bottesford Station. Opened in 1850, this line is still in regular use, with several trains a day stopping at Bottesford for services to Nottingham or Skegness.
