Wonderful to be able to see the old church where my grandfather and grandmother were married on 20 th June in 1887.
William Johnson, a greengrocer, married Fanny Kinsley. They later moved to east end of London. William died young in 1897 leaving 5 children. Frank went back to Hedon to Johnson relatives, Charlie to relatives in Lincolnshire.
The girls and my dad,Herbert stayed in London .FANNY ran a laundry assisted by the girls to support them.
@Christine Reeves – Unfortunately you have the wrong location, Christine. This postcard (and web site) are of Bottesford in Leicestershire, whereas William Johnson and Fanny Kinsley were married at the other Bottesford which is a suburb of Scunthorpe in North Lincolnshire.
