Members of the Blackmore family standing on the Rectory bridge
“Myself [Stanley Blackmore], my mother, Nancy and cousin Joan (Robert’s sister from Mexico), on the footbridge across the Devon between the Rectory garden and the Church. This was the original bridge made of timber, and fairly unstable. I took it down and built a steel beam replacement (but I cannot remember quite when, pobably about 1945).”
