St. John the Baptist, Muston

A Brief History

St John the Baptist is a good example of a medieval parish church built for a small rural community. The main building is of local ironstone, with limestone butresses. Although considerably restored it retains intact its C14th chancel and tower. Its handsome broach spire is rare for this area.

Inside the church is a fine C15th font, with elaboratre carvings on the stem and beneath the bowl.
