Albert Street
Photographs
Albert Street, originally known as Back Street, is still recognizable from this c 1900 photograph. A comparison with the next picture, taken around 1980, shows that the houses on the West side have survived much as they were, though there has been some infill building. The fields and gardens on the Eastern side of the road have now been built on. Sadly, the handsome pine tree, silhouetted against the sky in the 1900 photographs, has fallen or been felled.
Can anyone add any information or memories about the houses on Albert Street and the people who lived there?
