These plans of 1923, lent to the Living History Project by Mr. Peter Topps, show the route of the proposed new Grantham road across the Rampers allotments and over a new concrete Washdyke Bridge. The road was eventually opened in 1937. This was obviously an important event locally. Three post cards, lent to us by Mr. Mike Saunders, were issued to record the opening. These are all very clear images and, together with the plans, give a precise record of the changes that took place.  If any one has any memories or other photographs of the old or new road, we would like the hear from them.
