The evening was organised as a celebration of the achievements of three guides who had been awarded their Baden-Powell awards - Helen Topps, Kerry Chambers and Karen Money.

Jill Bagnall, one of the Guide Leaders, continued her family's  tradition of celebrating such events in verse.

Guide leaders' thank you - (Gill Smith, Jane Wilcox and Jill Bagnall)

Dear Parents, thank you for your support, you were wonderful
For joining in the Hallowe'en spirit, the evening was never dull.

How many words from Hallowe'en this game needed a clever clogs scholar
Dave Middleton was the winner with words including Wallah.

With paper and cellotape everywhere, some pointed, some flat
Vic Martin was laying on the floor under his witches hat.

Some cheating in this game, a cat with a wooden leg, and one with five
A fat cat, one whose head dropped off and even one alive.

The carrot in the milk bottle, some parents cheating again
Various odd positions, some looked in quite a lot of pain

With the raffle and donations a total of twenty five pounds was raised,
For their part in the evening the Guides should be praised.

An evening to remember especially for Helen Kerry and Karen
We really did appreciate you coming, we give you ten out of ten.

We give up many hours, all it takes to make us smile
Is when we get parent's support, it makes it all worthwhile!

Thanks
Gill, Jane and Jill.
