Margaret Taylor shares family memories about her father’s war time service (Pte. Arthur H. Taylor, North Staffs Regiment) with Sue Middleton, a volunteer on the Heritage Lottery Fund Bottesford Parish WW1 Centenary Project: People, community and memory.
Born in 1900 Arthur Taylor volunteered under age in 1917. From a family with a butchery business and being used to working with animals he worked with horses in France. As necessity required, they would butcher and eat horse meat.
