Bottesford gas works
The site of the gas works was next to Normanton Lane. The picture shows the furnace house on the left, and three small gasometers that provided the supply to the village for about 100 years.

Excellent and very useful Gasworks image, showing the three gasholder technical styles from throughout the history of manufactured gas in England.
Dear Allen, thanks for your observations. The gasholders are long-gone, as you’d expect, but the manager’s house is still there, now ‘re-purposed’ as an infant’s nursery. With best wishes, Neil (editor).
