Looking eastwards through the chancel arch into the chancel itself, with its tombs and the east window. The 'doom' painting was made on the wall above the arch, which cut into the painting when it was raised during the 19th Century. In addition, the painting was concealed beneath plaster and remained unseen until its damaged remains were discovered in 1967.
