Annie Johnson lived on the green with her brother Dan in the end house on Woolsthorpe Lane. Back then, four families lived in this row. On the Holly Cottage end were The Bullarcs, next the Peppers, the Bramleys then the Johnsons. This house is now a single dwelling I believe.
Dan Johnson had a parrot, an African gray I think, and as kids he used to let us come into his house to see this and hear it talk – this was to us amazing.
