A number of events were organised in Bottesford to mark the 80th Anniversary of VE Day.

These included:

VE & VJ  Day Displays

Produced by the Bottesford Community Heritage Group presenting the history of VE Day VJ Day  and their impact on the people and community of Bottesford in Leicestershire. Topics covered include: victory celebrations, life in wartime Bottesford, evacuees, civil protection units (Air Raid Protection and Royal Observer Corps), those who served and casualties.

A VE/VJ Day Commemorative Procession to light the Beacon.

Evening of the 8th May 2025.

Meet at 7.45pm outside the Old School Rooms, Bottesford. The procession commences at 8.00pm. 8.30pm Town Crier Proclamation and lighting of the beacon.

A VE Day Tea Party and Display at the Scout Hut, Albert Street, Bottesford

Saturday 10 May, 2.00pm – 4.00pm

An Evening to Commemorate VJ Day at St Mary’s Church

Saturday 20th September 7.30pm

Featuring InVoice Ladies Singing Group and a VE/VJ Day Display by the Bottesford Community Heritage Group
