The Green Past and Present

A Gallery of Photographs

While many areas of Bottesford have changed beyond recognition  in the last hundred years, one area that can still easily be compared with photographs from the last century is The Green.Was the whole of this area originally communal and was The Square built  on what was formerly the Village Green?

    My Nan used to live in the End Cottage on The Green, Mrs E Tinkler, nee Dunsmore. I only just found this wonderful site tonight, so I will ask my mother Janet (nee Tinkler ) to come and have a look at these photos, as she will probably be able to identify some of the people in them

    So interesting to read Cathy’s comments. My Grandad and Grandma Sellers too lived in one of those cottages and, would you believe, I used to play often with Janet (Tinkler)! Does she remember me – Brenda Sellers?
