Reg Barke with chickens in yard at Bottesford Coffee House, during WW2
This picture was taken in the yard at the rear of Bottesford Coffee House, next door to the Bull Inn, during WW2. Mr Reg Barke, proprietor of the Coffee House, is keeping chickens to add to his family’s food rations. The Coffee House was built in the 1880s by Lady Adeliza Norman and her husband Canon Frederick Norman to encourage temperance in Bottesford
