Founded c. 1590 as a Hospital and still with same use: sheltered housing. Front range C16, of ironstone, limestone and some later brick, formerly rendered and colourwashed. Rear range mid C18, mostly brick, partly rendered. M-shaped roofs of different pitch result, both with concrete tiles of 1985. 2 storeys with attics. East front of 5 irregular bays. Door left of centre below overlight. 2 3-light and 2 2-light hollow mullioned stone casements to ground floor echoed by similar windows above. Over door is one 2-light leaded casement of late C17. Gabled roof with 2 ridge stacks either side of doorway. Rear, C18, range of 2 storeys also in 5 irregular bays, the storeys separated by a platband. Door to right of elevation. Fenestration of 2-light timber cross casements to ground floor and 2-light iron lattice casements to first floor. Gabled roof with 3 ridge stacks, one of which is at the north gable end. Interior not inspected.
