Bottesford Friendly Society members marching along Church Street, en route to St Mary's church for the inauguration of Edward Prince of Wales, 13th July 1911
A procession of Bottesford villagers, said to be on the occasion of the inauguration on the 13th July 1911 of Edward, Prince of Wales (later King Edward VIII). The marchers are walking along Church Street, away from Grantham Road. On the left of the picture is part of the former Red Lion public house, complete with trees which resemble trees still there today! Right at the back is the village school (now known as ‘The Old School’). On the right are Rutland House (no.7 Church St) and Geeson’s shop (no.9).
