Flooding at Fleming's Bridge, Good Friday 1998
This pictures shows the floodwaters passing through the arches of Fleming’s Bridge in Bottesford. This early 17th Century packhorse bridge has withstood the waters for some four hundred years. In 1998, as we see, it must have been near to being damaged or even swept away by the height and force of the flow.
Standing on the bridge are Mr and Mrs Kirk, visiting Bottesford from their home in Plungar.
