The Vision of Britain Through Time site provides interesting insight into the population trends in Bottesford.
Up to the 1970’s Bottesford’s rate of population growth was half the national average.
Although there had been consistent increases in population since the early 1800’s, the rate of growth had been in decline since the 1830’s.
Since the mid 1920’s there have been consistent increases in the rate of the growth of the population to the point where it is now in line with the national average.
However, the population between 1850 to 1971 remained constant at 0.25 persons per acre compared with a national average rising from 0.5 to 1.25 persons per acre over the same period.
