Pte Henry Box, Kings Own Yorkshire Light Infantry, c.1915
This may be a picture of Pte Henry Box soon after he joined up during the First World War, when he was posted to the Yorkshire Light Infantry. The young woman behind him seems to be his sister Evelyn Box (later "Granny Marston").
From Janet Dammes' family archive.
Provisional identification, needs to be confirmed. The soldier is wearing what may be a Yorkshire Light Infantry cap badge, but this is uncertain. However, his teenage sister appears to be wearing the KOYLI cap badge, suggesting that the identification of the figures as Pte Henry James Box and his sister Evelyn are correct.
