An angel, weighted in stone,
Symbolising sublime weightlessness,
Transcendent ascension of the soul
Inscribed on smoothly undulating slate
Intricate symmetry of triangular wings,
Sun face, feathered geometric precision,
Insubstantiation substantiated on earth
By a man of Blake’s vision,
A country stonemason
Creating a sublime
Vision of heaven.
